Tornado confirmed in Vernon Parish
The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado occurred in Vernon Parish from Wednesday’s storms

VERNON PARISH, La. (KALB) - The National Weather Service out of Lake Charles has confirmed that a tornado occurred in the Hicks community in Vernon Parish on Wednesday.
An EF-1 tornado with peak winds of 104 mph touched down in the Hicks community, traveling for 2.1 miles between 12:37 p.m. and 12:41 p.m. Wednesday.
Several pine trees were damaged and a metal building had its roof torn off and thrown for several yards. There was also minor damage to the roof of a mobile home.
Fortunately, there were no fatalities or injuries from this tornado on Wednesday, March 30, 2022.
